Timichi charity campaign

A nostalgic departure
The beginning of this significant event resembled a previous campaign we had organized in support of the village of Tizi Noucheg. Where we were heading to Sitti Fadma and partnered with the Tizi Noucheg association again. However this time, we offloaded the trucks on four-wheel-drive vehicles and the ascent was heading up the right side, loaded with donations both inside the vehicles and strapped to the roofs
As for me, my responsibility was to oversee the media team. In a rather unconventional setup, we found ourselves strapped to the top of the car, perched on the luggage strapped to the roof. This gave us a panoramic view of the surroundings, which was perfect for capturing the most compelling photos and videos during the trip. There was no better spot for documenting the journey than from this high vantage point
The thrill on mountains
I won't describe the majesty of the mountains this time but rather the adrenaline rush that came with navigating the sharp turns of the mountain roads. The drop on the side of the road was about a kilometer deep, and the fear was palpable. We couldn’t help but wonder how fast we could jump off the roof if something went wrong. Amid the tension, there was a sense of divine protection, a feeling that God was watching over us as we carried out this humanitarian mission. For this, we were truly grateful
A village in need
After a difficult ascent, we arrived at the Timichi village, a remote and impoverished area located 2 km higher up the mountain. The village was lined with stone houses on either side of the valley. We saw people carrying branches on their backs, desperate for warmth as winter closed in. The hands of the children were cracked and dry from the cold, resembling the hands of elderly women. As we we assembling the donation bags inside a large tent, the wind howled, and rain began to fall. The temperature dropped to around 0°C at night, requiring each person to use at least three blankets to get some sleep
Bringing hope to children
The next morning marked the beginning of a small yet joyful celebration. The children were given a prayer lesson, followed by a session on dental health awareness. Each child received a gift bag containing toothpaste, a toothbrush, and some sweets. Meanwhile, dozens of mules were used to carry large donation bags to the villagers homes, ensuring that everyone received the aid they needed. This event stood out as the largest of the year, with a record number of volunteers contributing their time and effort to make a difference in the lives of the people of Timichi
