On a good note
The day before the journey, we attended a profound lecture on the blessings of benevolence. Two scholars, both of whom I hold in great esteem, spoke about the importance of kindness and helping others. Their words resonated deeply, setting the perfect mood for the upcoming experience
The next morning, six cars gathered in Marrakech, ready to embark on a meaningful mission. We were accompanied by two large trucks loaded with 19 tons of donations that had been carefully collected for the people living in the remote village of Tizi Nousheg. As we drove towards the Ourika Valley, the natural beauty surrounding us was inspiring. To the left was a serene river, while the majestic Atlas Mountains rose in the distance, creating a beautiful scene that made the journey feel even more special
Time to unload
After reaching the village of Setti Fadma and due to the rough terrain, the trucks couldn’t travel all the way up to Tizi Nousheg, so we had to unload everything and transfer the donations to around twenty mules. It was the only way to ensure the supplies would make it there. The process was a bit challenging, but the excitement kept us going. It took two hours of walking through mountain paths to reach the village, and it was worth every step. Despite being winter, the landscape was full of life. The contrast between the snow-capped mountains and the green fields was just beautiful
Before sunset
As the day wore on, the sun was about to set, casting a golden light over the mountains. Soon, fog rolled in, and the temperature dropped sharply and we barely managed to pack the donations into large bags. Still, the beauty of the place made the discomfort seem insignificant. We spent half the night on a shelter’s terrace, taking in the peaceful scenery under the moonlit sky. Despite the cold, it was a memorable night
A warm welcome
In the morning, after a simple yet refreshing breakfast of wild berries, we began preparing for the most important part of the trip: distributing the donations. One of the most touching parts of the experience was the warm welcome we received from the members of the Tizi Nousheg Association, our local partner for the campaign. The organization, hospitality, and kindness they showed us were truly heartwarming. Everyone worked together with great team spirit, making the distribution process smooth and efficient, and their collaboration made a big difference in making the event a success
Bringing joy to families
Thanks to God, then to the generosity of the donors and volunteers, we were able to make a real difference in the lives of the villagers. In total, 300 families and 500 children received much-needed supplies. Seeing the smiles on their faces was incredibly rewarding. Being part of this mission was an honor, and I am deeply thankful to everyone who contributed to making it possible. The joy we shared that day will stay with me forever, as a reminder of the impact we can have when we come together for a good cause
