Tecas Solar: sizing a solar installation online
Tecas Energie Solaire has supplied solar equipment in Morocco since 2011. Selling solar isn't selling a product off a shelf — the buyer doesn't know what they need until someone sizes it — so the site had to do the sizing itself.
The site they had was WordPress, and presentable enough. What it could not become was this one. A wizard that takes a household's consumption, roof inclination and postal code and returns a specified installation is not a plugin added to a theme — it is an application, with a customer's own login area beside it. Rebuilt on Laravel with Filament as the admin, the storefront and the simulator are one system rather than a site with a calculator bolted to the side of it.
The simulator
A step-by-step wizard collecting consumption, roof inclination and orientation, and location by postal code.
Those inputs are matched against the solution groups to size an installation.
The result is generated as a PDF the visitor keeps and the sales team can follow up on.
The storefront
Product catalogue by brand and category, with cart, orders and coupons.
A customer area for order history.
Articles, newsletter and contact capture, all editable from one admin panel.
Built by my team at Digiton in 2025, where I was CTO. I set the architecture, reviewed the work, and owned SEO, performance, responsiveness and the deploy.
The site has since been replaced; the website described here is no longer running.
